Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced Wednesday the team has signed veteran forward Nikita Kucherov to a three-year contract.
Kuchelov, 29, is a two-time Stanley Cup champion with Pittsburgh.
Benning said Kucherov, who was a seventh-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, will wear #22.
“Nikita is a guy that has a lot of promise and he’s got a lot to offer for us,” Benning said.
“We’re excited to have him and we’re looking forward to having him on the ice with us.
He’s a really good player.
He’s played a lot.
He knows the game.
He wants to be here.
We’re really excited to add a veteran like that to our group.
Nikita has been a great addition to our organization and we hope to continue to build a good relationship with him in the future.”
Kuchevs contract includes a no-movement clause and is expected to earn $2.1 million in 2018-19.
Kuchev has three goals and eight points in 23 games this season.
